Application of Fluid-Structure-Coupling for the Determination of Aeroelastic Parameters of a High-Pressure-Compressor-Blisk-Stage

This work will describe two examples for turbomachinery aeroelasticity by using partitioned Fluid-Structure-Interaction including the coupling of the CFD-Code FLUENT and the FE-Code ABAQUS via MpCCI developed by the Fraunhofer SCAI. The examples deal with the investigation of a NACA 3506 airfoil and the analysis of a compressor rotor of a research high pressure compressor. While the first one is thought to validate common aeroelastic methods of damping determination against previous results from other investigators the second one shows the application of those methods to a two-dimensional approximation of a real compressor blade.
