Multi-Physics Solutions
Fraunhofer-Institut für Algorithmen und Wissenschaftliches Rechnen SCAI
Our Mission Statement
The Fraunhofer Institute for Algorithms and Scientific Computing SCAI conducts research in the field of computer simulations for product and process development, and is a prominent corporate partner in the industrial and science sectors.
SCAI has its role and position as an independent and neutral developer of advanced software solutions. Following this baseline SCAI is open for co-operations with interested software partners in the arena of CAE software.
SCAI offers studies, order computations and development of software and algorithms. We use standard simulation tools adjusted to the needs of our customers. Our service ranges from modeling the application problem and choosing the adequate simulation tools and methods to the computations on high performance computers. Analysis and visualization complete our offer. Moreover, we are concerned about a seamless and time-saving integration of different simulation tools: data transfer, data management, steering and workflow.
One of our core topics is multi-physics simulation, i.e. the concurrent computation of different physical processes. Examples for such coupled simulations are fluid-structure-interactions, thermal transfer and radiation coupling, magneto-hydro-dynamics applications, or fluid-electro-interactions. These bidirectional coupled solutions can be accomplished by file-based mapping solutions (e.g in metal forming, FSI), or extending your own CAE solutions by advanced numerical mapping algorithms.
