Why you should use the SCAImapper in your metal forming workflows

  1. SCAIMapper is easy to use – the user interface of the SCAIMapper tool is dedicated to its major task of mapping and comparing meshes and physical data sets. There is no overhead through any kind of extended visualization features, expert modes, or lengthy settings of session parameters. Just read in the source model (mesh + results), the target model (only mesh), select parts and quantities, push the mapping button, and finally save the mapped results for four target model.
  2. SCAIMapper supports most stamping and crash Formats – thus the SCAIMapper is an independent and neutral solution which can be integrated in most metal forming workflows.
  3. SCAIMapper allows to transfer data between models with different number of shell layers – SCAIMapper has accurate methods to calculate value distributions over thickness between models with different numbers of ‘out-of-plane’ integration points.   4. SCAIMapper can adjust model positions nearly automatically - it is still a common problem that each CAE department uses its own rules for positioning models in the coordinate system. SCAIMapper has semi-automatic tools to adjust model position without any predefined knowledge of the required transformation.
  5. SCAIMapper provides an easy way to check mesh compliance and mapping quality - SCAIMapper provides methods to calculate local distances between two mesh model. Backmapping methods can be used to check the influences of locally different mesh granularities on both sides onto the mapping quality itself.
  6. SCAIMapper takes care of local peak values – customers compared the mapping quality of SCAIMapper with results generated from internal mapping features used in some crash codes. Small and local peak values of thickness or plastic strain were smoothed in the other tools – while the SCAIMapper kept those peaks and mapped them properly onto even coarser target elements.
  7. SCAIMapper also works if source and target model differ in geometry.
